This is the daring moment a couple stood up to a mugger armed with a fake pistol and beat him down in Brazil.

A building surveillance camera in the São Paulo city of Várzea Paulista recorded the man and the woman walking along a sidewalk when they were suddenly approached by the suspect aboard a motorcycle outside a residence.

A mugger aboard a motorcycle approached a couple in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday before he was beaten when he attempted to pull out a fake pistol in order to rob them. However, the thumping continued as the couple dragged him across the street and took turns hitting him.

They kept him restrained until the police arrived and placed him in custody.

"The power of love," he tweeted along with an emoji of a heart.
