Readymade Drops "Denali" fleece inspired by North Face

Editor's note: The Japanese brand Readymade now actually owes The North Face's cooperation money, but at the same time it may continue to improvise the signature fare of outdoor brands. Its latest work is a fleece jacket very similar to Denali.

As part of the Readymade 2021 autumn/winter collection, its fleece fabric has a large quilted panel on the fleece sleeves and a fabric recycled from military tents. Tent textiles are ready-made signs, but eco-wool and quilting-borrowed from vintage lined jackets-embody founder Yuta Hosokawa's fascination with the old-school military.

In this sense, his spin on Denali is unique in the way he uses military aesthetics to create new things. I mean, the shapes and styles must be similar-imitating the position of the logo and the pocket is very deliberate-but I can't imagine anyone confuses Readymade's fleece jacket with the real Denali.

This is a bit like Yuketen’s Air Jordan 1.

As I hinted before, Readymade has modified The North Face pattern before. A few years ago, its military down jacket used the inverted TNF-style logo and Nuptse-style puffer fish details, although it is not Nuptse (Not-tse?).

However, Readymade is more than just reusing familiar images for lazy design. The repurposed military fabric looks really cool-it makes each item unique-and the smart details throughout make it clear that the brand only upgrades textiles: the ready-to-wear design is unique.
