Review: Dare2B Aptile Hooded Softshell Jacket-Scotland Yard

Scottish Field commented on a new lightweight, waterproof and highly breathable jacket.

What it is: Aptile Hooded Softshell Jacket Sport Blue Ebony Grey. Suggested retail price: £70. www.dare2b.com

I want it because: This is sold in Dare2Be's sportswear collection, but it's actually a great-value all-rounder, suitable for golf courses, walking, biking, or just wandering around the house.

Applies to: all of the above. It weighs 175 grams and is light, but it is waterproof and breathable, so it is very suitable as a layer in the bag to cope with the changing weather at this time of the year.

HIGH POINT: Its elastic binding means that if you are active and move with your body, it is really comfortable. With two zipper pockets, plus an elastic cap, cuffs and hem, this is just a very practical British-made kit.

LOW POINT: This is not technical equipment, nor is it for extreme conditions. Fortunately, it is now on sale at half price!
