Police are on the hunt for six men who allegedly bashed a man so badly he was left with bleeding on the brain and a shattered skull.

Police are on the hunt for a group of six men who they say allegedly assaulted a man in Sydney’s CBD, leaving him with horrific brain injuries.

Emergency services rushed to the corner of George and Liverpool Streets about 2.10am on Monday following reports of an assault.

Officers with Sydney City Police Area Command were told a 25-year-old man became involved in a physical altercation with six men.

The man did not know the group who allegedly set upon him.

He was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain, where he remains in a critical condition.

Police have since released footage showing the group of men fleeing the scene along Kent Street in a Blue Holden Commodore.

Images have been released of the men who police believe were involved in the incident, while officers have formed Strike Force Stockdale to investigate it.

All men are described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance.

Police have described the first man as 180cm to 185cm tall, of solid build, with facial hair and short black hair.

He was wearing a blue puffer jacket and a blue and red ‘Ellesse’ branded shirt, with jeans.

The second man is about 180cm to 185cm tall, of solid build, with facial hair and short black hair, and was wearing a light-coloured hoodie jumper and dark track pants.

The third man is described as being about 170cm to 175cm tall, of medium build, with clean-cut facial hair and short black hair, with a rear neck tattoo.

He was wearing jeans, a light coloured shirt and a light coloured “Puma” branded puffer jacket.

Police say the fourth man is 170cm to 175cm tall, of average build, with facial hair and short black hair combed to one side.

He was wearing track pants, black sandals and a light coloured zip jumper.

The fifth man was also around 170cm tall with an average build, with facial hair and short black hair. He was wearing black thongs at the time.

Police say the final man is between 170cm to 175cm tall and a smaller build, with short black hair and was wearing a dark puffer jacket and light jeans.
